The coincidences inside NASS are too many to be taken lightly

The coincidences inside NASS are too many to be taken lightly.

Within 24 hours, Buba Galadima, the arrow head of the R-APC is involved in a terrible accident and is now hospitalised.

Senate President Bukola Saraki is summoned to report to the Police Headquarters by the IG in a hurried letter sent to him by 8pm last night.

This morning at 6.50am as he prepares to leave for the Force HQ, his convoy is blocked and he has been prevented from leaving his official residence.

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has also been blocked from attending the Senate plenary this morning.

It’s becoming clear, as rumours turn to facts, that there really is an attempt by Buhari to try to usurp the power of the National Assembly. It is rumoured that stopping Saraki and Ekweremadu is part of a grand design to assemble sympathetic APC lawmakers today who will hurriedly assemble in the Senate chambers and ‘impeach’ Saraki and Ekweremadu and install a stooge of Buhari.

Dogora, the House Speaker, will be next.

If Nigerians are wise, it’s no more hoodwinking by Buhari and the APC. It’s now full blown sliding to dictatorship if the independence of the National Assembly is breached.

If Nigerians are wise, the signs that 2019 will not be peaceful and fair as we approach the elections are becoming clear.

But if Buhari is wise, he should remember what happened to Laurent Gbagbo of Ivory Coast and also remember his recent visit last week to the ICC in Hague.

Today, the Nigerian Civil society is expected to reassemble, regroup and save the democracy fought for since 1984.

If we are wise….

UPDATE: Saraki has left his residence but reports say the homes of Ike Ekweremadu and the homes of Senator Dino Melaye and other supporters of Saraki have been blocked by the Police.

Me: There’s no other better way to put it than this, this is what you witnessed when you test a dictator with power.
