AATSG Appoints Gift Emeka Wokocha Rivers Chairman
As the nation moves towards the 2023 general election, a political mobilization group, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu Support Group, AATSG, has appointed Hon Gift Emeka Wokocha, JP, as its new State Chairman for Rivers State.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the national chairman of the organisation, Otunba Abayomi Odunowo and Sampson Antasia Oburu, the national Publicity Secretary.
According to the statement, Wokocha’s appointment was to further strengthen the Group in the state given his experience as a grassroots politician having served first as local government chairman and later as member House of Assembly in the state.
The Group used the opportunity to remind the newly appointed chairman and it’s members across the nation of the ultimate focus of the AATSG which is to ensure the emergence of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress,. APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria.
According to them, the former Lagos State governor has the experience and intellectual capacity to take the country out of the present economic conundrum and place it on the path of development hence the determination of the Group to give the APC national leader maximum support necessary for the dream to come true.
The newly appointed chairman hails from
Omoku Town, in
Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government of Rivers State.
He was elected member, Rivers State House of Assembly,
Representing Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Constituency I, between 2011-2014. Prior to that, he had served as
Executive Chairman, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA, Rivers .
He worked in the civil service at Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue under Ministry
of Finance and Economic Planning, Port Harcourt. where he
retired as a Principal Revenue Assistant
He has also served in various capacities as party functionary both at local and state levels.
