It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of a beloved father of a member of our Egbe Omo Ogun Rere (EOOR) family, the late Soleye. His passing has left a void in our hearts and a sense of grief that is difficult to put into words. However, as we gather to honor his memory and pay our last respects, we also want to celebrate the life he lived and the impact he had on those around him, the late Soleye was also a father to one of us, Hon. Eyitayo Soleye. Hon. Eyitayo Soleye is known to be a restauranteur and the owner of Calabar Kitchen at Ibara Housing Estate, Ibara. He is also an incredibly supportive and wonderful member of our group, always ready to lend a helping hand and contribute to the betterment of our community. As such, it is only fitting that we honor the late Soleye’s son, Hon. Eyitayo, at his father’s burial ceremony for his numerous contributions and unwavering support as an EOOR member.
The Wake-keep service for the late Soleye was solemnly held yesterday, Thursday March 7, 2024 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta. It was a time for us to come together, share fond memories, and console each other in our grief. The outpouring of love and support from members of EOOR and the wider community was a testament to the impact the late Soleye had on so many lives.
Following the Wake-keep service, the Funeral Service was held earlier today, Friday March 8, 2024, at Owu Baptist Church. This was a time for us to bid our final farewell and honor the life of the late Soleye. As we stood together in prayer and remembrance, we felt a profound sense of gratitude for having known him and the positive influence he had on our lives.
As we prepare for the private interment immediately after the service of songs, we carry the memories of the late Soleye in our hearts. While he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit and legacy will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
In conclusion, the late Soleye’s passing has left a deep impact on all of us. However, as we come together to honor his memory and support his family, we also celebrate the legacy he leaves behind. Let us cherish the time we had with him and carry his spirit forward in our lives. Rest in peace, Mr. Soleye, you will be dearly missed.
