The Green Party of Nigeria, GPN, has elected Otunba Abayomi Odunowo as it’s gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State for the 2019 election.
Odunowo, who was unanimously elected after his main challenger Aremo Ifeoluwa Adesanya withdrew from the primary after declaring support for Odunowo at the primary held at the resort of Ogun Oshun River Basin Development Authority on Saturday.
Odunowo who has over thirty years as entrepreneur has also served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State government on Environment promised party members to bring the much needed development to the Gateway s.
Speaking to Journalists after the election, Odunowo said, “Let me assure you that as the state governor, I will facilitate real development to our dear State.
“My involvement is an intervention. It’s a rescue mission to salvage our collective inheritance from the current marauder.
“It’s a new dawn. Every competent Ogun citizen will be brought on board to contribute to our State.
“GPN will run an inclusive government that will fully operate on the principles of good governance and upholding of Democratic ethos.
In his remarks, the chairman of the party in the state, Engr. Akintunde Olawoyin, said it was indeed a successful outcome devoid of rancours characterising primaries of other parties.
