Olalekan Abayomi EpiNEWs reports.

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Nigerian Youths for Credible Leadership (NYFCL), has urged youths in the country to vote for only credible candidates in 2019 general elections, to ensure good governance.

Coordinator of the group, Prince Kayode Olabode made the call in an interview with Newsmen in Ijebu Ode during the just conclude ojude OBA programs in Ijebu Ode Ogun State on Thursday

Prince Olabode said that its been detrimental to our countries growth for the electorate to focus on choosing leaders from any political party, without looking at the credibility of the candidates involved.

I urge the youths and the public to focus on credible candidates in the 2019 elections; this is the only way to move the nation’s democratic system forward and derive the much required benefits of democracy that has eluded us in the last nineteen years of our democracy.

As a pre-requisite to achieving this we will be organizing debates Amongst the political aspirants for Governorship and presidential candidates for the next elections across the country.

Any of the aspirants that refuses to attend our invitation we will urge all youths to campaign against them and would be automatically delisted from the potential list.

If and when we see somebody that has the credibility we require in any political party , we will put the total strength of positive thinking youths of our country behind such candidates by supporting the candidate and urging other youths to do so without any financial needs from such candidate to win the election in 2019.

The NYFCL and other youths are determined to come out en masse and vote a credible candidate, non of the other already existing popular party,” he said.

The coordinator of the group said that they would campaign for credible candidates with capacity of bringing positive changes for Nigerians.

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the additional 13,000,000 new voters registered Nigerian voters and also for granting eligible persons the opportunity to register there political party’s since it has now come up to 91 from the initial 67 political party’s as voters across the country.
Prince Olabode urged qualified persons to take advantage of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to register and be able to vote during elections.
